I love the “That’s how the world works” videos
Speaking of Jonathan Gruber, yesterday Fox’s Ed Henry asked the President about Mr. Gruber’s influence in crafting ObamaCare. The exchange:
Q- ED HENRY: AT YOUR BURMA TOWN HALL SAID GOV’T NEED TO BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE, HOW DO YOU SQUARE THAT FORMER ADVISER GRUBER CLAIMING YOU WERE NOT TRANSPARENT BECAUSE IN HIS WORDS AMERICAN VOTERS STUPID DID YOU MISLEAD ABOUT TAXES ABOUT KEEPING YOUR PLAN IN ORDER TO GET BILL PASSED?
1:36:09 No, I did not – I just heard about this – I get well-briefed before I come out here. The fact that some advisor who never worked on our staff **** expressed an opinion that I completely disagree with in terms of the voters – is no reflection on the actual process that was run. 1.36.27 We had a year long debate Ed, I mean go back and look at your stories – (laughs) the one thing we can’t say is that we did not have a lengthy debate about health care in the united states of america or that it was not adequately covered. .44 i mean I would just adivse every press outlet go back and pull up every clip every story and I think it’s fair to stay that there was not a provision in the health care law that was not extensively debated and was fully transparent. Now there were folks who disagreed with these various positions, it was a tough debate (VERBATE ENDS)
Well as it turns out, for someone who “never worked on our staff…” was paid approximately $400,000 by the HHS for his work. It’s also been reported that his total take from the states and the fed for his work on ObamaCare is somewhere around $2 million.
If Congress and the President want to keep distancing themselves from this man, maybe somewhere along the lines he should be investigated for fraud for taking so much government money.
