My latest submission to the South Bend Tribune’s Voice of the People:
I plan to vote for Marlin Stutzman in the May 3rd GOP primary for the US Senate. In this year’s Presidential elections, with Ted Cruz and Donald Trump leading the Republicans and the popularity of Bernie Sanders on the Democratic side, one theme has been on full display and it’s the people’s disgust with business as usual in Washington DC.
In Marlin Stutzman’s 6+ years in the House of Representative he has shown a willingness to go against the party’s leadership from voting against John Boehner as Speaker of the House and with him being a member of the Freedom Caucus a group who fight for conservative causes. He also scores consistently more Conservative by the various scoring groups.
Contrast that with his opponent, Todd Young, who was recently endorsement by the US Chamber of Congress, one of the biggest crony capitalist lobbying groups in the country today. Todd Young is also being supported by the Mitch McConnell affiliated One Nation Super PAC.
If, like me, you’re fed up what’s happening with the GOP leadership in Washington I hope that you will join me in voting for Marlin Stutzman.
