I will not sell my soul or my University’s for someone who seems to stand for the antithesis of the Christian Virtues and Christian Values that I hold dear.

On Sundays The Daily Caller posts “Leaders with Ginni Thomas” a series of interviews of conservative leaders conducted by Ginni Thomas. This weeks interview was with Oklahoma Wesleyan’s President, Dr. Everett Piper.

Dr. Piper first received wide spread attention when he wrote the article “This is Not a Day Care. It’s a University!” last November in Oklahoma Wesleyan’s official blog. He wrote the article after a student approached him because the student felt “victimized” following a campus sermon.

The article was picked up by the Washington Examiner as well as others leading to appearances on several shows including Fox and Friends and Glenn Beck.

Dr. Piper once again gained national attention when he penned “Trumping Morality” on stating that Donald Trump would not invited to speak at Oklahoma Wesleyan this came following Mr. Trump’s speech at Liberty University. I had previously written about this in Liberty Cannon Media.

Dr. Piper opens his interview with Mrs. Thomas by again discussing Donald Trump saying has been criticized for “hurting our cause because of my criticism of Donald Trump” and “my disagreement with another University President (presumably Jerry Falwell, Jr.).” Later Dr. Piper stated that “I will not sell my soul or my University’s for someone who seems to stand for the antithesis of the Christian Virtues and Christian Values that I hold dear.”

During the interview Mrs. Thomas asks Dr. Piper if he’s endorsing a particular candidate for President, while not offering an endorsement, Dr. Piper says that the only candidate that he supports is Texas Senator Ted Cruz because he “holds honesty in high regard.”

In the interview Dr. Piper also discusses the atmosphere on many college campuses advising parents that they need to be more discerning in which school they chose to send their children to and, if necessary, requesting a meeting with the school’s President to answer any questions they have. Dr. Piper goes on to discuss those that are being prosecuted for their religious beliefs including both here and abroad and asks why we haven’t heard from the President on the subject.
