Solely my Theory
Please note that I’m a long time listener and unapologetic supporter of Glenn Beck.
During the course of Donald Trump’s candidacy several formerly reliable conservative web sites and one prominent news network have become nothing more that arms of his campaign team. One of the most notable of these has been Breitbart.com. All you have to do is scroll thru their main page for proof of this.
What has become most disturbing about sites like Breitbart.com is the way that they attack any one who dares to criticize Donald Trump, including organizations like National Review and those that were involved in the Tea Party movement from the very beginning of the movement. With Glenn Beck’s endorsement and campaigning for Ted Cruz he has come under constant attack not seen since the early days of Barack Obama’s presidency.
I’m a member of several Facebook groups that support Glenn and other members at TheBlaze. Early on Tuesday, Mary 30th I was seeing several posts concerning Glenn Beck being suspended for the week by SiriusXM for an interview he conducted with author Brad Thor. You can hear the full interview here. SiriusXM claimed that Brad Thor, during less than a 1 minute portion of the 15 minute interview, was making a direct threat to assassinate Donald Trump if he is elected. I found this claim utterly ludicrous but I’ll leave it up to you to make up your own mind.
One thing that caught my attention was a comment someone made that initially Brad Thor called the story nothing but a rumor. This led me to Brad Thor’s Twitter page to check out what he said.
Then in the comment section:
This led me on my own search to find out the truth. On Breitbart.com I found this story: “SiriusXM Announces Suspension of Glenn Beck over Brad Thor Interview Comments.” Including this: “SiriusXM issued the following statement:”
SiriusXM encourages a diversity of discourse and opinion on our talk programs. However, comments recently made by a guest on the independently produced Glenn Beck Program, in our judgement, may be reasonably construed by some to have been advocating harm against an individual currently running for office, which we cannot and will not condone. For that reason, we have suspended The Glenn Beck Program from our Patriot channel for the coming week and are evaluating its place in our lineup going forward. SiriusXM is committed to a spirited, robust, yet responsible political conversation and believes this action reflects those values.
What struck me as odd was that there was no link I could click on myself that took me to SiriusXM to verify the statement so I took to Google trying to find a link to SiriusXM’s official statement and all I could come up with were stories based on what Breitbart.com was reporting.
Even TheBlaze article: “SiriusXM Temporarily Suspends Glenn Beck Over Brad Thor’s Comments About Trump: ‘This Is NOT What He Meant’” was based on the report from Breitbart.com. What caught my attention was the first paragraph in TheBlaze’s story: “SiriusXM hosts Stephen K. Bannon and David Webb announced Tuesday that the radio network has suspended broadcast of Glenn Beck’s radio program following controversial comments author Brad Thor made about presumptive Republican nominee Donald Trump.”
It just so happens that Stephen K. Bannon is the executive chairman of Breitbart News. Adding to my conspiracy theory is the fact that Sarah Palin was a one time friend of Glenn Beck but has since turned against him. Is it a coincidence that in 2011 Stephen K. Bannon was the writer and the director of the movie “The Undefeated” a movie about Sarah Palin.
As I am writing this I checked Breitbart.com’s main page and it features the following headlines:
